| To Whom It May Concern: |
 |
| RE: Westpac Drywall
Finishing Products |
 |
| It is quite common and
proper to use Westpac Drywall Finishing Products over virtually any brand of gypsum
drywall panels. |
 |
| There are two agencies
responsible for the basic material standards and specifications in our industry.
They are: |
 |
 |
1. |
The Gypsum Association
- An organization of gypsum wallboard manufacturers whose standards are referenced by the
BOCA National Building Code, the Uniform Building Code, and the Standard Building Code.
One of their more commonly applied publications is the Fire Resistance Design Manual. |
 |
 |
 |
2. |
The American Society For
Testing and Materials (ASTM)A scientific and technical organization whose material
and application standards are accepted as the U.S. Federal Government standards. These
same standards are referenced by the Gypsum Association and are therefore incorporated
in the information listed above. |
 |
| All Westpac Joint Compounds
are certified to meet, or exceed, the applicable ASTM Standards. They are then, by all
industry standards, approved and recommended for use over gypsum wallboard products
meeting applicable ASTM Standards. |
 |
| At present, there are no
industry standards on texture products. It should be noted, however, that Westpac
Textures have been used extensively over all brands of gypsum wallboard and have been
accepted by the drywall trade as the standard to which all competitive products are
compared. |
